Frequently asked questions
BOOKING & PROCESSWHAT TO EXPECTYOUR PHOTOSPRICING & PACKAGESSESSIONS & LOCATIONSCANCELLATIONS & RESCHEDULING
I've never done a professional shoot before. What should I expect?
Nerves, probably — and that's completely fine. I guide every client through the session with clear, friendly direction so you always feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera. The goal is for your photos to feel like you — not stiff or forced. I always check in with my clients during the shoot and ask whether they feel natural or awkward with a pose!
What should I wear?
I'll send a styling suggestions after you book. The short version:
Wear something that feels like you — not what you think you're supposed to wear
Soft, neutral, earth tones photograph beautifully at DC outdoor locations
Avoid loud patterns, neon colors, or large logos
Comfortable shoes for walking between setups, then change into the good ones for photos
How many people can I bring?
Depends on the session:
Graduation and prom: Groups up to 4 with tiered pricing
Couples: Just the two of you — pets welcome too
Family: All sizes — pricing scales with group size
Portraits: Solo
Maternity: Solo or with your loved one and/or family members
Can I bring my pet?
Yes! I've photographed dogs and would love to include your pet. Reach out and tell me what you have in mind — we'll figure out the best setup together.
What if I'm running late?
Let me know as soon as you can. There's a 15-minute grace period from the scheduled start. After 30 minutes with no contact, the session may be considered a no-show and the full fee remains due.
Late arrivals mean a shorter session — the end time stays the same regardless of when you arrive. You can request an extension after your scheduled end time, but it depends on my availability. I will need a written confirmation if you'd like to proceed with the extension in the form of an email or a text.
Sessions can be extended in a minimum of 30-minute increments. Extended session will be charged as overtime detailed in your contract.
What if it rains?
If conditions would seriously affect our safety, your photo quality, and my camera gear, we'll reschedule at no charge — one complimentary weather reschedule is included. If you want to push through despite the weather, I'll make it work, but I can't guarantee the same results. Additional reschedules beyond the first weather-related reschedule will incur a $75 fee.
