Portrait & Headshot Photographer in Washington DC, Maryland & Virginia

For birthdays, milestones, LinkedIn, and portraits that actually look like you. Pets always welcome.

You don't need a reason to get portraits done — but if you're looking for one: you moved to a new city, you hit a milestone, it's your birthday, you just want photos that actually look like you for once, or you want photos of you and your pet!!!! That counts. Portrait sessions aren't just for LinkedIn headshots or modeling portfolios. They're for anyone who wants great photos of themselves.

Portrait and Headshot Photoshoot

I shoot outdoors at locations across DC, Maryland, and Virginia — no studio lights, no stiff backdrops. Just you, natural light, and a photographer who will tell you exactly what to do so you're never standing there wondering what to do with your hands. I've been on both sides of the camera, so I know what it feels like to not know what to do — and I've made it my thing to make sure you never feel that way.

Starting at $300 · Pets welcome!

What your portrait session looks like...

It may be a portrait session but I promise it won't feel like you are taking a passport photo. We're going outside, we're moving around, and by the end you'll actually want to do it again.

Not every portrait session has to be outdoors. This one was a birthday session inside the National Gallery of Art in DC — marble columns, world-class art pieces, and us creating a little timeless elegance of our own right in the middle of it all.

Yes, you can bring your dog or other pets! Honestly encouraged. Think of it as portrait and pet photography in one session — pets are natural posing props and they make everyone relax immediately, which makes for better photos. Win-win.

The DMV has no shortage of incredible backdrops — and we're not limited to the monuments. Old Town Alexandria, the Spy Museum, Seneca Creek, the National Gallery — wherever you want to shoot, I'm probably already thinking about how the light hits there.

What You Are Actually Investing In

When you book a session with me, you're not just paying for an hour of photographing at a location. Your investment covers the full process — from your first message to the moment your gallery lands in your inbox.

Before your session:

We'll connect to nail down location, timing, and what to wear. I research lighting conditions, scout spots in advance, and show up ready — so we're making photos from the first minute, not figuring things out on the fly.

My camera and equipment:

Every portrait and couples session in the DMV is shot on professional-grade camera bodies and lenses, with backup gear on hand. The quality of your images starts before I press the shutter.

During your session:

I'm not just holding a camera. I'm giving you pose direction, reading the light, and moving us between setups — all while keeping things relaxed and fun. Most clients tell me they felt awkward for the first few minutes and forgot the camera was there by the end. That's the goal.

After your session — the part most people don't see:

For every hour we spend together, expect 3–6 hours of editing work behind your final gallery. Every image is individually edited in Lightroom and Photoshop: color grading, exposure, skin tones, selective retouching. Yes, I do have my pwn presets from years of shooting, but I don't simply slap on a preset and call it a day. Each photo is finished by hand, to a standard I'm proud to put my name on.

Delivery:

Your gallery is delivered through a secure, password-protected platform — high-resolution files with a personal use license, ready to print, post, and keep for a lifetime.

What you receive isn't a folder of raw files. It's a finished, curated gallery — every photo complete the moment you open it. To me, every image is a piece of art. And that's exactly how I treat it.
